About Sherrod "Rod" Schofield
I'm from Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, I'm a focus factory manager and the manager of manufacturing/controls engineers and the finishing system. When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with family, golf, and cooking. I live with my spouse, Michelle Schofield, M.D., our daughter, Madison and our dog, Kojak.
What excites you about working for Hytrol?I like the degree of autonomy that I am given in my position while simultaneously being a part of a team that is able to collaborate and achieve a common goal. I like the family environment that is present at Hytrol. I also appreciate the 70-year history that the company possesses.
What are your current responsibilities? My responsibilities as a focus factory manager include the intense concentration on specific processes that will result in meeting both the internal and external expectations of the customer. In addition, the day to day responsibilities include being both attentive to the daily workings of my assigned process but also being familiar with the adjacent processes in the overall system yielding a smoother transition.
What do you find most challenging in your position?
A challenge presents itself when the customer initiates a change order once the team has already begun processing and implementing the initial request. Though this situation can be challenging, the team once again comes together to modify the original task.
