Ask Hytrol: How to Identify and Correct Error with EZLogic® Sleep Mode

Ask Hytrol is our monthly video series focused on specific topics to help you maintain your conveyor system and learn about new technology. In this video, you will learn how to identify and correct a communications error with the EZLogic® sleep function.

To identify the issue, begin by manually flagging the corresponding photo-eye, as well as the one upstream. If the zone does not respond, a communication error may be the cause. To further examine the EZLogic® zone, connect to the Genesis™ software, and the diagnostic screen will flag any communication errors.

Next, identify the root cause by examining the following:

1. Check the cables to make sure they are connected properly and in good condition.

2. Remove the zone controller, and check the pins on the backside.

3. Check the pins on the upstream zone controller.

A loose cable or misaligned pin is likely the cause. Once this issue is resolved, the zone should function properly.

  1. How do i solve this problem. As i test zone controllers going down stream one of the sections actually stops when i block controller previous to it. And when i take my hand away the zone that stops starts to work. Almost like its doing the opposite. Motors are supposed to work as i block photoeye going downstream. But in my case it gets to a zone that instead of going it stops.
