Ask Hytrol: How to Set or Change Motor Speed Using EZLogic® OS

Written by Hytrol | August 31, 2026

In the video below, we’re going to walk you through how to set or change the motor speed on your Hytrol EZLogic NET® conveyor system using the EZLogic® OS platform. There are a few different ways to adjust speed — including through Ethernet I/P communications — but today we’ll be focusing on setting and changing the speed using EZLogic® OS.

Before You Start

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

  • The motor speed is set using percentages. A setting of 0% will run the motor at its minimum rated speed for the motor wattage you're using.
  • This process works through a wired connection to a PC or a wireless connection via Bluetooth — we’ll show you both options.

Step 1: Connect to the Gateway

To start, connect your device to the Gateway:

  • If you’re using a PC or laptop, connect it to the Gateway Master using the provided USB programming cable (that’s a USB Type-A to USB Mini-B cable, Part Number: 033.095537).
  • Plug the Mini-B end into the “Config” port on the Gateway, and the Type-A end into your PC or Bluetooth Module.
  • Plug the Type-A end into your PC or the Bluetooth Module (Part Number: 033.095538), depending on which method you’re using.

Step 2: Open the EZLogic® OS App

Once you’re connected, open the EZLogic® OS app—on your desktop or mobile device—and choose “Connect to Controller (Online).”

Step 3: Select a Zone

After connecting:

  • Go to the Zone Selector pane on the lefthand side of the app.

  • Click on the zone you want to adjust. The selected zone will show up in larger text than the rest.

Step 4: Adjust the Speed

Now, let's change the speed:

  • Click the "Zone Configuration" tab.
  • Under the Parameter Selection Pane, choose "Motor Speed".
  • In the Configuration Editor, you'll see a drag bar and a  text box. You can use either one to set your desired speed percentage.

Note: As you adjust the percentage, you’ll see a speed table update above the drag bar. This shows the estimated FPM (feet per minute) for both standard and speed-up spools— based on a 1.9" roller. Just keep in mind this table doesn’t apply to curves or belted zones.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

Once you’re happy with the speed setting, don’t forget to hit “Save” in the bottom-right corner of the editor. You’ll want to see the “Configuration saved successfully” message. If you don’t see that, your change won’t take effect.

Step 6: Apply to Other Zones (Optional)

If you’d like to apply this same speed setting to other nearby zones, you can clone the configuration. For help with that, check out our other Ask Hytrol video:

You’ve just updated your conveyor speeds using EZLogic® OS.
