In today's Ask Hytrol video, we’re going to discuss how to configure the loading and unloading zones on an EZLogic® zone controller using the Genesis software.
When a product is placed in a zone (a loading zone) or removed from a zone (an unloading zone) by some external means, the EZLogic® zone controller may be programmed to stop the zone and accumulate any upstream products for a preset time.
To set up a loading zone:
Connect the Genesis programming cable to your PC and the zone controller to be programmed. Open Genesis and select the edit button to enter edit mode.
Next, select the loading zone option to open the installation wizard. You’ll be prompted to select the desired time or enter a custom time between zero to 60 seconds. Click next.
Now, enter the zone length in inches and the conveyor speed in fpm (feet per minute). Click 'next.'
Enter the length of the shortest product that will be conveyed on this conveyor in inches. Click 'finish' to return to the main screen. Note that the loading zone now lists a desired time, and click done.
To setup the unloading zone, select 'edit' in Genesis to enter edit mode. Select the unloading zone option to open the installation wizard. Select the desired time or enter a custom time between zero to 60 seconds, and click 'done.' No other information is required for the unloading zone setup.
You have successfully configured the loading and unloading zones onto your EZLogic® zone controller using the Genesis software. For more EZLogic® programming information, contact Hytrol Customer Care at 1-844-4HYTROL.
