8 Tips to Get the Most Out of MODEX
The largest manufacturing and supply chain expo of 2018, MODEX, is coming up quickly. The show is April 9-12 in Atlanta, and with more than 850 exhibits and 100 educational sessions, you could find yourself overwhelmed with your choices. A little planning will help you make the most of your MODEX experience. Use the following quick tips to make sure you utilize your time wisely.
Tip 2: Make a Schedule/Plan. There are more than 100 seminars scheduled at MODEX, so chances are there is at least one that will be helpful to you! Visit the MODEX website for a list of seminars and exhibitors, and sit in on those that will help you meet your goal of attending. Additionally, create a “must see” list of exhibitors. This will help you prioritize the nearly 900 exhibitors who are going to help meet your goal of attending.
Tip 3: Research on Social Media. Be a part of the MODEX social media buzz and follow your “must see” exhibitors beforehand. Many of them are already publicizing opportunities to schedule meetings, booth numbers and displays, special demonstrations, featured speakers, giveaways, etc. Engage with them ahead of time to begin developing a relationship, or to strengthen the one you already have. When you post/tweet at the convention, stop by their booth and make sure you use their hashtags! The hashtag for the entire show is #MODEXShow.
Tip 4: Prepare Your Brand. Put your best foot forward. This is a HUGE stage for you and/or your business. Make sure you do both of the following:
· Have enough businesses cards printed. You don’t want to run out!
· Update your LinkedIn account. Whether it is your personal or business account, ensure that the information is current. Post content that shows you’re up-to-date with the latest trends.
Tip 5: Research the Industry. MODEX will feature the newest trends in the manufacturing and supply chain industry. Make sure you are up-to-date by reading industry blogs and articles before you attend. Some blogs you might be interested in looking into:
Tip 6: Prepare Your Questions. There will be experts in various fields relating to manufacturing and supply chain industry. Take the time, visit with them and ask them your questions that will help achieve your goal for attendance. This event only happens every two years so take advantage of the opportunity.
Tip 7: Review Your Information. When you return home, review the information you collected. Do you have contacts or leads you need to follow up? Is there additional information you need to research? Keep your goal in mind. Just because MODEX is over, doesn’t mean your work is done.
Tip 8: Enjoy! Don’t forget to enjoy yourself. There will be thousands of people in the industry to meet and establish new relationships. Achieve your goal, and have fun while you do it.
